Let’s Stop Trying to "Do" Faith and Just Start Living It

I don't know about you, but some days, my "spiritual life" feels like just another thing on my to-do list. Between the emails, the laundry, and the constant noise of social media, trying to find a quiet moment with God feels like trying to find a needle in a haystack.

We post the pretty verses and we say the right things, but if we’re being honest? A lot of us are just tired. We’re tired of the performance. We’re tired of feeling like we’re not "Christian enough" because we didn’t wake up at 5:00 AM for a deep-dive Bible study.

But here’s the thing I’m learning: God isn't looking for a polished version of us. ### The "Always-On" Trap

We live in a world that never sleeps. We’ve been convinced that if we aren’t producing, we aren't valuable. We carry that into our faith, too. We think we have to earn our peace.

But I’ve realized that the most "spiritual" thing I can do some days is just turn off my phone, sit on my porch, and admit that I’m not the one in control. There is so much freedom in remembering that the world doesn’t rest on our shoulders—it rests on His.

It’s Okay to Have Questions

I used to think that doubt was the enemy of faith. I thought that if I had questions about why life is so messy or why certain prayers seem to go unanswered, it meant I was failing.

But I’m starting to see that a faith without questions is a faith that never grows. God is big enough for your "Why?" He’s big enough for your frustration. You don't have to check your brain at the door to follow Jesus. Sometimes, the most honest prayer you can pray is, "I don’t get this, but I’m still here."

We Weren't Meant to Be Solos

Faith can be lonely if you're only doing it behind a screen. We weren’t designed to be "solo Christians." We need people who know our actual mess—not the curated version we show at church, but the real stuff.

The kind of people you can text when you’re having a bad day, or the ones who will sit in silence with you when words aren't enough. That’s where the "church" actually happens. It’s not in a building; it’s in the living room, over a shared meal, being real with each other.

Just Take a Breath

If you’re feeling distant or burnt out, don’t try to fix it by doing more. Faith isn't a mountain you have to climb; it’s a relationship you get to be in.

Maybe today, "valuable content" isn't a deep theological breakdown. Maybe it’s just a reminder that you are loved, exactly as you are, right in the middle of your mess. You don't have to be perfect to be His. You just have to be you.

I'm curious—what’s one thing that’s been weighing on your heart lately? Sometimes just saying it out loud (or typing it out) makes the load a little lighter. Let's chat in the comments.
